EMI accounts and payment gateways differ primarily in their funding mechanisms. EMI accounts necessitate customers to have adequate funds in their accounts to complete purchases, whereas payment gateways depend on merchants having sufficient funds in their accounts to process customer payments. To put it simply, EMI accounts are funded by customers, while payment gateways are funded by merchants.
