Stellar Edge is a scam crypto investing platform that’s being used to fleece unsuspecting investors out of their cash.
The victim who contacted PawProfitForum Team about the operation said they’d seen an advert on television featuring a well-known UK celebrity purporting to endorse the Stella Edge investment.
After signing up, they were assigned an ‘agent’ who guided them through the process of setting up a Revolut account, together with an account with the legitimate crypto.com exchange.
They also joined a WhatsApp group run by Stellar-edge and transferred funds to a specific platform and wallet supposedly connected with it.
They proceeded to put £500 pounds in an account set up for them by a ‘handler’, then a further £2,000. They became suspicious when their contact demanded a further £20,000.
During the process they were assured their money was safe and that they had secured a huge profit of tens of thousands of pounds during the investment period.
Account was fake and no investment was made
It transpired that the Stellar Edge platform was entirely fake and that the person had been caught up in an elaborate crypto investing scam.
No celebrities in the UK would endorse a crypto investment, especially one that is purely designed to scam users out of their cash, nor would the advert appear on national television.
However, Facebook and other social media platforms are flooded with fake ads for scam investment schemes. The social media companies appear to take little action to stop them from appearing.
On visiting the Stellar Edge website, it initially appears to be legitimate. But there are numerous red flags that reveal that it isn’t.
These include:
- A very new domain name. Scammers often set up sites then shut them down after a couple of months.
- There is no information about the company, its investment strategy or the team making the investments anywhere on the site.
- There are numerous grammatical errors in the text which is always a sure sign that a platform is not legitimate.
- The company has no social media platforms, apps, or contact information apart from a signal email address.
- The profits offered by the various ‘investment plans’ listed on the website are too good to be true and completely unrealistic.
