VeThorCoin is a scam crypto platform that claims to offer a range of trading functions and market tools but is being used to defraud would-be investors.
The platform itself is reasonably well designed and it’s easy to see why someone could be initially fooled into thinking it is genuine.
However, if you scratch beneath the surface there are many telltale signs that this is operating as a scam.
Some of the things wrong with the platform include:
- A very new domain registration.
- Very limited information about the platform’s operating policy.
- No details about the company behind the operation or its address.
- No licensing or regulator information anywhere on the site.
- No social media presence or app store trading apps.
- Multiple reports that the platform is being used as part of a scam.
- A Domain Authority (DA) rating of 1, the lowest possible.
- Many internal pages simply lead to a sign-in page, rather than give information.
- Multiple pages are simply free feeds drawn from other platforms.
This can be difficult because the scammers can be persuasive, especially if the victim has developed a relationship with them online prior to being directed to the VeThorCoin platform.
Can I recover cash or crypto lost to the VeThorCoin scam?
Trying to recover funds from the scammers on your own is incredibly difficult so you should always report what’s happened to the authorities in your country.
There are also private companies that might be able to help which I’ve written about here.
