Sellfy Software has been flagged up to me as potentially linked to a crypto scam which resembles what’s known as a pig butchering scam.
Victims are ‘fattened up’ by the scammers who befriend them through social media sites before mentioning a fantastic cryptocurrency investing opportunity.
They encourage the victims to invest, and often show them social media groups with other members claiming to be making easy money.
The victim will see their balance increase rapidly and it’ll appear that they’ve made a huge profit, but when they come to withdraw their money the problems start.
The scammers will ask for a variety of different fees in order for the victim’s money to be released.
If one fee is paid, a new fee will crop up before the money can be transferred. This will continue until the victim stops paying.
Of course, the profits aren’t real, nor are the fees. It’s all a ruse to squeeze as much money as possible out of the ‘fattened pig’.
Why could Sellfy Software be a scam?
The main reason why I’ve listed this site is because it’s been flagged up by a user.
They were approached by someone at random through Telegram who directed to them to sign up at the site to start investing in Bitcoin.
Other things that point to this being a scam include:
- The domain was registered very recently.
- There is no information on the site about who’s behind it, an address, contact details etc.
- A couple of links that are on the site do not lead anywhere.
- The site doesn’t appear to have any social media channels associated with it.
- Legitimate crypto trading sites don’t contact people at random through social media.
- The profits promised to the person who contacted me were completely unrealistic.
Yes, Sellfy Software is definitely as scam, but some people’s experiences are different to the one I’ve described above.
Here’s a report from someone who became involved in the Sellfy Software platform:
"The recruiter claims that you make money by simply offering feedback to manufacturers regarding their online advertising. The idea is that they pay you for improving their ads. Here's where it doesn't add up in my eyes. This guy reckons he works 60-90 minutes a day and is making around 1,500 USDT per week. That just seems like WAY too much profit for 10 hours work when it's supposedly just businesses going "yeah thanks for your thoughts". Also his written English is terrible, so how good could his feedback be anyway?"
