❌ SCAM Okxweb08 Scam Crypto Investing Platform

Scam flagged website/app or resource
attachment

Okxweb08 is a fake crypto investing and trading platform which is being used by fraudsters to lure people in to parting with their cash.
The platform operates like a pig butchering scam whereby the victim is contacted at random via social media and befriended, often by someone claiming to show a romantic interest in them.
After the relationship is established, the scammer will turn the conversation to crypto investing and encourage the victim to pile money into the Okxweb08 platform.
Often the victim is guided through the process of transferring cash from a bank account to a legitimate exchange where its converted into crypto and sent to the fake platform.
The fake account will appear to show large profits but when the victims comes to withdraw the money, their account will be blocked.
Then they’ll be asked to pay a fee or tax of some sort in order to release their funds, but this is part of the scam. If they pay any further money it will also be stolen.
Spotting the Okxweb08 scam
The platform itself has a very rudimentary design and is clearly designed to operate in the short term before being shut down.
The domain name is very new and it has no Domain Authority ranking meaning it gets very little traffic.
Another huge red flag is the warning Google gives visitors before they can access the site.
Additionally, the platform uses ‘okx’ as part of its name. OKX is a well-known and legitimate crypto trading site. Scammers often use names similar to that of genuine companies to confuse investors.
There are numerous other things wrong with this platform which means we’re 100% sure it’s a scam and should be avoided.
What can I do if I’ve already been scammed?
As always we advise people to note down as much information as they can about what’s happened and the transactions they’ve made before passing this on to the authorities.
There are private companies that might be able to help which I’ve written about here.
