Lucky BTC is a classic pig butchering crypto scam which lures victims in with the promise of huge returns on their investment.
‘Investors’ are contacted through social media channels such as Telegram by people who quickly befriend them and gain their trust.
After a few weeks they turn the conversation to investing and reveal that they know of an amazing scheme involving cryptocurrency.
Once hooked in the, the victim is asked to transfer cash to a legitimate crypto exchange before converting it to the USDT stablecoin and sending it on to the scammer’s wallet.
The victim will soon see huge profits appearing in their account and will be encouraged to invest more.
The problems start when they come to withdraw their cash though. The victim will be told they need to pay various fees, commissions, or taxes in order to release their money.
The scammers will continue with these demands until the victim is bled dry. Anyone who invests in Lucky BTC will not see any of their money back.
How to tell Lucky BTC is a crypto scam
Some scams are harder to spot than others, but Lucky BTC is easy.
Here are some of the giveaways:
  • The domain was registered very recently, and the scammers have deliberately hidden their information from view.
  • There is no content on the landing page, and nothing to tell you who the site is run by or their contact information.
  • There are no social media channels or links to mobile apps via official app stores.
  • On visiting Lucky BTC you’re simply presented with a login page and nothing else. How many legitimate exchanges would do this?
  • If you search for Lucky BTC online all you’ll find is mentions of it being a scam in various forums and social media groups.
This list is by no means exhaustive, but it gives you a flavour of why Lucky BTC is 100% a scam website and should be avoided at all costs.
Can I get my money back from the Lucky BTC crypto scam?
Recovering your cash from crypto scammers is not easy, but authorities are becoming more aware of pig butchering scams.
There have been cases where the scammers have had their crypto wallets frozen, and some funds have been returned to users.
If you’ve been scammed it’s important to report it to the authorities so that your money can be returned in the event it’s recovered.
You could also consider employing the services of a crypto recovery specialist to help trace your stolen funds.
