Lshvrw is a scam crypto investing DApp that scammers are using to trick would-be investors into parting with their cash.
Victims are being approached online, often using ‘accidental’ message on various platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook, and befriended.
Soon, the scammer will turn the conversation to crypto investing and encourage – often forcefully – the victim to transfer large sums of money to a legitimate crypto wallet.
The victim will then be directed to connect their wallet to the Lshvrw DApp and give it full access permissions.
Doing this will enable the scammers to siphon all the funds from the wallet as soon as they’re deposited.
Spotting scam DApps like Lshvrw can be quite difficult, but you should always research any financial product thoroughly before parting with any cash.
You can check things like the development team, company registration, newness of the domain registration and Domain Authority (DA) to give you an idea of how legitimate a DApp is.
Also, you should always be incredibly suspicious of any new ‘friend’ that you’ve only every met online encouraging you to participate in investment schemes, whether related to crypto or not.
I’ve lost cash to the Lshvrw scam – can I recover it?
DApps and fake crypto platforms and exchanges are often created to last just a few months before being shut down b y the scammers.
The fraudsters use fake details and are very careful about covering their tracks. As such, it makes recovering your lost crypto very difficult.
There are also private companies that might be able to help which I’ve written about here.
