What is katana?
katana is a blockchain designed specifically for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. The chain focuses on addressing two critical challenges in the DeFi space: achieving deeper liquidity and providing higher yields for users in a sustainable manner. Built by the Katana Foundation and incubated by Polygon and GSR, the project aims to bring “dead bags to life” through concentrated liquidity mechanisms. The platform uses a different approach to maximize yield generation by concentrating all liquidity into three core applications: Morpho for lending protocols, Sushi for spot trading, and Vertex for perpetual trading. katana Airdrop Details
katana was running a pre-deposit campaign that allows users to earn exclusive rewards before the mainnet launch. The campaign operated through a unique reward system called “krates” – special reward containers that can contain up to 10 million KAT tokens, with at least one krate guaranteed to contain a CryptoPunk NFT. Additional prizes within krates include AUSD, SUSHI, and MORPHO tokens. The pre-deposit campaign accepted four eligible assets: ETH, USDC, USDT, and WBTC. All deposited assets will be secured in Yearn vaults until Katana’s public mainnet launch, which is expected in June 2025. The larger the deposit amount, the higher the chances of winning valuable rewards. Once the mainnet goes live, users will be able to withdraw all their deposited assets without any complex lockup mechanisms, maintaining full control over their funds. It’s important to note that any KAT token rewards earned through this campaign will be subject to a non-transfer period of up to 9 months after distribution. Katana Mainnet has officially launched with a massive 1 billion KAT token incentive program designed to bootstrap the chain and reward early adopters.
