The way that media, music, and film are produced is being revolutionized by AI is making waves in Hollywood. AI is increasing creativity and expediting production through deepfake technology and scriptwriting assistants. AI is being used by studios to create lifelike visual effects, de-age actors, and even forecast box office performance using data modeling. The distinction between human and machine creativity is becoming increasingly hazy as musicians work together with AI tools to create new sounds and harmonies. Another growing trend is voice cloning, which enables actors to "perform" in several languages without having to rerecord. It's not all cheers, though, as artists and unions are voicing concerns about job security, authenticity, and copyright. Hollywood must decide whether to adopt AI as a new creative partner or risk being disrupted by it. There is no doubt that AI isn't merely behind the scenes anymore.
