Ehbdr is a scam crypto DApp designed to resemble a crypto investing and trading platform.
Investors are lured in with the promise of large returns, often by people who approach them at random on social media.
They are directed to the Ehbdr DApp then told to transfer crypto across to start investing having converted cash on an exchange.
Initially ‘profits’ appear in their account, but if the victim decides to withdraw their money the scammers will freeze their funds.
They’ll then demand a variety of ‘fees’ before the money can be released but no money will be returned to the victim even if they pay up.
Spotting the Ehbdr scam
The scam is very similar to many others that are operating right now in the way victims are encouraged to invest and the design of the DAPP.
It’s a cookie-cutter platform which resembles a genuine investing DApp but it offers no real functionality or way to profit from crypto investing.
There’s also a companion Telegram group which appears to be populated by other investors who are all chatting about how much money they’re making.
But these are bots or fellow scammers who are trying to build confidence when new victims come on board.
There are other tell-tale signs that this is a scam as well, including a very new domain name registration and the unrealistically high returns on offer.
There’s nothing genuine about the DApp and you should avoid depositing any money here.
Help, I’ve lost funds to the Ehbdr scam
Losing money to a scam can be devastating and the reality is it’s very hard to get your money back.
However, you should always report what’s happened to the authorities in your country.
There are also private companies that might be able to help which I’ve written about here.
