NOTE: This scam is in no way connected with CryptoClever.io (or .com / .co.uk) which is a legitimate site offering live crypto prices and news.
CryptoClever is a fake crypto investment platform that demands an initial Bitcoin (BTC) deposit from investors, claiming it’s needed to verify their identity.
Victims asked to transfer 0.3 BTC from an external wallet to “process the verification of a user” but it’s a scam designed to steal your crypto.
If you do pay the money you’re then told that you’ve made a significant profit on your site through the platform’s automated trading bots.
However, when you come to withdraw your funds you’ll find that you can’t access your money.
The scammers will then demand a further payment to unlock you funds and release them to you, normally in the form of a commission of up to 30%.
Again, if you part with this payment you’ll be given excuses as to why there’s still a problem transferring your cash and you’ll be asked to pay further fees.
This will go on until you run out of money or refused to pay the scammers, in which case they usually disappear.
What makes CryptoClever a scam platform?
There are many things about the site that tell you it’s a scam.
They include:
- A very new domain name.
- Poor cookie cutter website design.
- Badly written content with many grammatical errors.
- The about us page lists fictious information, claiming the company started in 2017, yet the domain was registered in 2022.
- Other content doesn’t make sense and is not related to the site’s aims.
- Many of the links all lead to the same page.
- There are no social media channels.
- No-one has reviewed the platform, while it has been reported as a scam.
CryptoClever is definitely a scam crypto platform designed to steal your money.
You should not engage with it or deal with anyone claiming to represent this site.
Block anyone who contacts you on behalf of CryptoClever and spread the word on social media.
It’s highly unlikely that you’ll get your money back, but it’s worth reporting the site to as many people as possible.
