Coin-Royal is a crypto trading scam that’s possibly linked to another fake platform called Grand Capital CG and several others.
The person who contacted me about Coin-Royal had initially become involved with the scammers behind it back in 2022.
He was engaged with an ‘adviser’ who encouraged him to invest in conjunction with Metratrader5 under Grand Capital CG before it morphed into its latest iteration.
The victim initially invested a small amount until this grew to $45,000 Canadian dollars. At this point, his ‘profits’ were alleged to be in the region of $93,500.
But when he tried to withdraw his money, the scammers demanded $4,800 in fake ‘gas fees’ in order to release it, which he paid.
Further demands followed, from ‘Switzerland Government Security’, ‘Grand Capital Finance Dept’ and ‘England Ministry of Finance’ totalling a further $45,000 Canadian Dollars.
Unfortunately, this money was also handed over to the scammers who of course never returned a cent of his cash or alleged profits.
Coin-Royal victim’s account
A victim of the Coin-Royal scam who contacted PawProfitForum Team wrote:
“So a little while back, I came across coin-royal, and I thought to myself I just wanted to look into it.
I instantly got a call from someone I asked for more information to which he wasn’t able to give me much I should have realised then. I was feeling the pressure and signed up paid 250 in usd which I think is about 220 gbp.
I was then passed over to another agent who made me do a screen share and had showed me what to do and how to use it, did one little trade which then I hadn’t heard from anyone then all of a sudden was getting calls to which I was unable to answer.
Eventually when I did answer I asked for my money back and for the account to be closed off, hadn’t heard from anyone for about 2 weeks and then I was contacted by someone else who said the finance team will be in touch to which he asked for information verifying myself and asked if I had a crypto account.
Apparently my coin royal account had around 800usd in there and said once they release it they can’t do anything about it. I told the guy to verify my account but he kept asking for a bank statement but I was unable to give it and now I’m lucky I didn’t.
I never heard from him again since I have asked for him to put me through to someone who can help, he wouldn’t even answer the questions I had he was responding to something completely different.
Anyway it’s been about few weeks and I don’t think i will get the money back. I went to check their reviews and I can see there are some I saw one on trust pilot saying it looks like a scam, and all the other reviews i think are fake!
Came across your article and I’m glad I did – if I get any more calls which I doubt I will definitely won’t be giving them the time of day, I haven’t reported it as I don’t even know who I would report something like this too.”
How to tell Coin-Royal is a scam
The Coin-Royal website is slightly more sophisticated than many of the crypto scam sites in operation.
Yet while the design is more professional, when you scratch beneath the surface you’ll find many issues that confirm it be a scam.
They include:
- The domain was only registered in February.
- The registrant’s details have been hidden deliberately.
- The content on the site is generic and clearly scraped from other websites.
- The same applies to the images which are generic picture repository photos.
- Much of the content doesn’t relate to the supposed purpose of the platform.
- Multiple errors on pages.
- No social media accounts.
- No apps for either Android or Mac.
- None of the regulatory information often present on crypto trading websites.
- No mention of the team or the company headquarters.
- Some pages are in a completely different language to others.
- No reviews online from customers.
Do not send any cash or crypto to any account linked with the platform and block anyone who approaches you about investing here.
I’ve lost money to Coin-Royal – can I get it back?
It’s unlikely that you’ll be able to get your cash or crypto back from Coin-Royal, but if you’ve lost money to the scammers you should still report it to the authorities.
There are private companies that might be able to help you track down your missing cash or crypto that I’ve written about here.
