If you're in the UK and you misplace your card, you can totally freeze it using your online banking. Just log in and look for something about cards or security.
If you find your card later, you can usually unfreeze it online. But if it's gone for good, ask for a new one.
Find Temporarily Block Card, click on it, and follow the steps to freeze your card temporarily. It's super handy if you think your card is lost, so no one can use it without your permission. Freezing doesn't cancel your card, just puts a hold on it.
