Bitoyo7 is a scam crypto investment website that claims to offer investors high returns over a short time frame yet is actually a fake platform.
Would-be ‘investors’ are approached via various social media platforms, such as Telegram or WhatsApp and befriended before being convinced to invest in a ‘guaranteed’ crypto scheme.
However, once they’ve deposited a significant sum victims find that they’re blocked from withdrawing their money.
The scammers will then tell victims that they need to pay a ‘fee’, ‘commission’ or some other charge before they can access their funds.
However, this is all part of the scam and designed to extract even more money from the victim.
Sites like Bitoyo7 only tend to last a few months before being shut down.
Telltale signs that Bitoyo7 is a scam
Scam Bitcoin investing sites vary significantly when it comes to sophistication. Bitoyo7 sits at the lower end of the scale.
Here are some of the things that give it away:
- A very new domain name.
- A URL that doesn’t match the site title, which is ‘TPT’.
- A Domain Authority (DA) ranking of 1 – the lowest possible, meaning very few visitors and a low trust rating.
- Poorly designed with pixelated graphics and grammatically incorrect text.
- No social media presence.
- No online reviews from clients.
- No explanation about how client money is invested.
- Nothing to say who runs the site or where the company is based.
- No regulatory information, disclaimers or corporate statements.
I’ve been scammed by Bitoyo7, what can I do?
You should always report scams to the police or relevant authorities in your country in the first instance.
You’ll also find some useful resources at the bottom of this page which may help, but it’s important to be realistic and understand that the chances of getting your money back are very slim.
However, there are private companies that might be able to help which I’ve written about here.
