China really cracked down on using cryptocurrencies. They're not a fan. Back in September 2017, they said no to Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), a way of raising money with cryptocurrencies. Then, they shut down local cryptocurrency exchanges and told banks to stay away from anything related to virtual money.
Inside China, it's super hard to use cryptocurrencies in the money game. But even if you're trying to do deals outside the country using cryptocurrencies, the government's watching. They want to make sure people aren't sneaking money out through these digital currencies. People have to careful with crypto moves in and out of China.
