Appcriticreview is a scam crypto ‘work’ platform which claims to offer payment in return for tasks but is in fact designed to steal your coins.
Users are often approached via unsolicited messages on social media channels such as Telegram and invited to perform simple and repetitive tasks in return for payment.
This generally consists of leaving star ratings or pre-written reviews for hotels or other leisure-related facilities or destinations.
Initially, it might seem like a good way to make some extra cash, with some users reporting that payments are made into the Binance account they’re told to set up by the organiser.
But each time users carry out tasks they use up ‘credits’ which eventually they have to pay for to continue to work.
Then, users are tempted to deposit ever greater sums of crypto to gain access to ‘better paid’ premium tasks, which many victims go on to do.
However, it’s often at this point when a substantial sum of money has been paid into and accumulated in their account that the problems arise.
If a user tries to withdraw their ‘earnings’ the scammers will block them from doing so, citing a variety of different reasons as to why they can’t release the funds.
Eventually, the work platform will shut down and the scammers will disappear with the money.
How to tell Appcriticreview is a scam
The way victims are approached, together with the primitive design of the website and app are instant red flags.
Also, the fact that there are dozens of these sites operating at any given time and they are constantly shutting down and opening up under different names is another giveaway.
It’s easy to see why some people get involved with scam crypto work platforms such as Appcriticreview as on the surface of it, it seems like an easy way to make a bit of extra cash.
This, combined with the fact that the app initially pays out to those who’ve completed the tasks is enough to get a lot of people hooked.
But it’s important to realise that Appcriticreview, and the many other sites like this, are purely designed to scam people and are not legit in any way.
Can I get my crypto back from Appcriticreview?
Due to the way these scams are operated, it’s highly unlikely that the culprits can be traced or that you’ll get your crypto back.
There are private companies that might be able to help you track down your missing cash or crypto that I’ve written about here.
