266w – also known as 266wrd – is another one of those ‘World’s leading crypto trading platforms’ that no-one has heard about and is clearly a fake site.
It was flagged up to me by someone who was lured into creating an account on the platform by a new ‘friend’ he’d met on Telegram.
After chatting for a while the friend turned the conversation to crypto investing and directed him to 266w where they said they’d made significant profits.
Unfortunately it turned out to be a similar scam to many others I’ve written about.
The victim is convinced to make a deposit of crypto with the promise of huge profits, which allegedly appear in their account.
But when they come to withdraw the money they’re told they need to pay a ‘commission’ or fee to free up their funds.
This is often around 20% of the total account balance, yet the profits aren’t real. If they pay, they’re then asked to come up with more funds for another fake reason and so on.
266w is 100% not a legit crypto trading platform – it’s a fake site designed by scammers to con unsuspecting investors out of their money. How can you tell 266w is a fake crypto platform?
There are many things that immediately give this site away.
They include:
- The platform’s web address is 266w, yet the name is WRD is supposedly the actual name of the exchange.
- The content is illiterate garbage that means nothing and has been scraped from other sites.
- There’s no information about the company or the people behind the project.
- Most of the links simply directly you to a login page – many scam sites do this.
- The website is clearly a thrown together, cookie cutter template.
- There are no social media channels or app store links anywhere on the site.

I’ve been scammed, can I get my money back?
I’m afraid there’s very little you can do to get your funds back if you’ve been the victim of a crypto scam.
There’s little regulation governing crypto right now and the authorities are relatively powerless to do anything about the scams.
If you’ve been scammed you can report it to the police or fraud action organisations in your country.
